Blockbuster fixing PC’s?

In the future, you may be sitting at home eating dinner, when a TV ad comes on with what used to be your local Blockbuster store, now with Firedog signs in the window, a black & green Firedog hatchback parked on the sidewalk. The voice-over will be going on and on about how convenient it will be to be able to rent a copy of Will Ferrell’s “Semi-Pro” while some pimply teenager will scour your computer for viruses.

Of course, Circuit City would first have to take the buyout deal from Blockbuster, Inc. who according to the Washington Post article has “made a hostile $1.35 billion bid for Circuit City.”

Lots of industry experts are questioning the deal and its benefits for either of the struggling companies.

I don’t care so much about how it will affect these company’s bottom line, I just wonder how many more inexperienced, obnoxious consumer pc service centers we really need. The ones that Circuit City has are already bad enough. I can’t imagine having them in my face at every Blockbuster when I’m trying to kick back a find a good movie to rent.
